Our Web Design Process: What to Expect When You Hire Apex Digitech

From Strategy to Launch

Our Proven Website Design Framework

A website project should never feel chaotic. You should know what’s happening at every stage, what decisions you need to make, and when you’ll have a finished site generating leads. Here’s the exact process we follow for every web design project, from the first conversation to post-launch support.

We’ve built sites for service businesses across Dallas-Fort Worth for 5+ years. This process exists because it produces sites that rank, convert, and hold up long-term.

Step 01

Timeline: 30-60 minute call.

Discovery Call, Business Goals, Target Customers & Current Site Review

We start by understanding your business at a practical level. What services drive the most revenue? Who is your ideal customer? What’s working on your current site, and what isn’t? What do competitors’ sites do well?

This conversation shapes every decision that follows, from page structure to messaging to calls to action.

What you do: Share your goals, customer profile, competitors, and brand preferences.
What we do: Document project requirements and success criteria.

Step 02

Timeline: 3 – 5 business days

Strategy & Sitemap, Page Structure, SEO Architecture & Content Plan

Before any design work starts, we build the strategic foundation. We map out every page your site needs, organized around the services and locations that drive revenue. The sitemap is built with SEO in mind, proper hierarchy, keyword targeting for each page, internal linking structure, and clear URL architecture.

We also create a content plan: what each page needs to say, which keywords it targets, and how it fits into the larger site structure.

What you do: Review and approve the sitemap and content plan.
What we do: Deliver site architecture and content strategy documents.

Step 03

Timeline: 5-7 business days for initial concepts.

Campaign Strategy & Keyword Research

We design key pages as visual mockups, typically the homepage, a primary service page, and a contact page. These establish the visual direction: layout, typography, color palette, imagery style, and how your brand translates to the web.

Wireframes come first to nail down layout and content hierarchy. Then we add visual design. You see exactly what your site will look like before we write a line of code.

What you do: Review mockups. Provide feedback on design direction.
What we do: Revise designs until approved.

Step 04

Timeline: 7-14 business days.

Development, WordPress Build, Mobile-First & Page Speed Optimization

Once designs are approved, we build. Every site is developed on WordPress, the most flexible, SEO-friendly CMS available for service businesses. We code mobile-first, ensuring the site performs on phones and tablets before scaling up to desktop.

Performance is built in from the start: optimized images, clean code, minimal plugins, fast hosting configuration, and Core Web Vitals compliance. A slow site loses visitors and rankings.

What you do: Nothing required during build. We handle development.
What we do: Build the complete site to approved specifications.

Step 05

Timeline: Runs parallel with development.

Content Integration, SEO-Optimized Copy, Images & CTAs

Content goes in during development, not after. Every page gets SEO-optimized copy written around target keywords, structured with proper headings, and built to convert visitors into leads. We integrate images, calls to action, contact forms, and call tracking numbers throughout.

If you have existing content worth keeping, we optimize it. If you need new copy, we write it, focused on your services, your market, and what your customers actually search for.

What you do: Review page content. Provide subject matter input where needed.
What we do: Write, optimize, and integrate all content.

Step 06

Timeline: Weekly, ongoing

Review & Revisions, Client Feedback Rounds

You get full access to a staging site to review everything before launch. Click through every page, test forms, check content, and provide feedback. We include two rounds of revisions in every project, most clients need only one.

We test across devices and browsers to catch issues before you see them. But your eyes on the site are essential, you know your business better than anyone.

What you do: Review the staging site thoroughly. Submit consolidated feedback.
What we do: Implement revisions and confirm all changes.

Step 07

Timeline: Monthly, scheduled.

Launch, Analytics, Search Console & Call Tracking Setup

Launch day is more than flipping a switch. We configure Google Analytics, Google Search Console, [conversion tracking](LINK:call-tracking-lead-attribution), XML sitemaps, robots.txt, SSL verification, and 301 redirects from any old URLs. We submit the sitemap to Google and verify everything indexes correctly.

If you’re running Google Ads, we coordinate with your PPC campaigns to ensure landing pages and tracking are aligned from day one.

What you do: Final approval to go live.
What we do: Execute launch checklist, configure all tracking, verify performance.
Timeline: 1-2 business days.

Step 08

Timeline: Ongoing goals.

Post-Launch Support, Hosting, Maintenance & Ongoing Updates

A website isn’t a one-time project. We provide ongoing hosting, security updates, WordPress core and plugin maintenance, performance monitoring, and content updates. When you need changes, new services, updated photos, seasonal promotions, we handle them.

Post-launch is also when SEO work accelerates. With a fast, well-structured site in place, we can build content, optimize pages, and scale into new markets.

What you do: Request updates as your business evolves.
What we do: Maintain, secure, and update your site on an ongoing basis.

Project Timeline

Timeline: How Long Does a Website Take?

Google Ads can produce leads within days of launch. That said, raw lead volume in week one isn’t the goal, profitable, sustainable lead flow is.
Standard service business site (5-15 pages)
4-6 weeks from discovery call to launch.
Complex sites (20+ pages, custom functionality, integrations):
8 – 12 weeks
